Chicago, IL to Pittsburgh, PA
June 2005

In June of 2005 I took a trip to Pittsburgh, PA to see a DMB concert and visit some family in Butler, PA. The route went from Chicago, up to Detroit, MI through OH to Pittsburgh and then back through OH and IN to Chicago again. Some of these pictures may have been taken by my friend John. This trip took place over a number of days and I've tried to separate them as best I could.

The path taken on this trip.

An I-88 shield as we head out from the Chicagoland area.

Traveling along I-88 begins our journey.

I-88 is an interstate located entirely in Illinois.

Still following I-88 East, as shown by the BGS here.

Road scene of I-88. The freeway was renamed "Ronald Reagan Memorial Freeway" after his death in 2004.

Coming up to I-294.

You could go take I-294 towards Milwaukee this way. It is part of the tri-state tollway.

We're following along to get on to I-290. So many roads just to get out of Chicago!

The exit for I-290 is coming up! I-290 is also known as the Eisenhower.

I-290 eastbound parts ways with I-294 North and I-290 West here.

And here we are. Mannheim Rd. is up here as well.

No more I-88. It ends here and I-290 begins.

Still on the Eisenhower going east.

An I-290 shield.

A view of the road and some of the city. The Sears Tower is the tallest building you see there. There is a better pic of the skyline under the Chicago link.

We're getting on to I-90/I-94 now.

Stay to the left for the Loop. We're staying to the right to get on to I-90/I-94.

Welcome to I-90/I-94.
