Leaving Clanton, Alabama! Here I am getting on to the interstate.
An I-65 shield points the way. |

Another I-65 shield and also the road. |

Another exit for Clanton. |

You can tell it's getting dark already. As I recall I didn't
leave until about 6 pm and I didn't want to be driving in the
dark in my little car so I stopped early. |

The median is a forest for a little while and then the lanes
come back together again shortly. |

I liked the foresty part of this picture. |

Still going north on Interstate 65 and heading towards Birmingham. |

But we're coming up to the junction for I-20 and I-59. |

Here's the junction and the start to a series of overhead signs
that I found interesting. |

Directions as to where the lanes go. |

Because it was getting dark these pictures aren't of the best
quality. But here's the exit for I-20 and I-59. |

And here is where the interstates part ways. |

Now on Interstates 20 and 59. |

And now on to US 78 which in the future will be
Interstate 22. |

An opportunity to head back to I-65. And also AL 5 meets us here. |

Here's a road scene for you. |

US 78 and AL 5 shields. |

Except for the bug smear, I like this picture because the road
kind of disappears and then reappears in the back again. |

US 78 stays in the left lane here. |

Coming up to Tupelo, Mississippi already. |

Shields. |

The exit for Tupelo and US 78 and AL 4. |

A blurry overhead sign. |

Well now it really has turned dark, but I found these to be interesting
shields so I had to get the picture of them. |
