Chicago to Miami Roadtrip
January 2007

And the trip continues from Alabama to Daytona Beach, Florida. I couldn't make it all the way down to Miami so I stopped for the night and finished the trip on the third day. The day started off with visiting the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and you can find photographs from that visit here. The bad news is I have no pictures of Georgia from this trip because it was dark by the time I was traveling through.

I had to backtrack just a bit this day to get to the US Space and Rocket Center, so here is an I-65 northbound shield to start.
This is a very interesting little intersection. I enter and leave Tennessee and Alabama at least four times in a time span of about 90 seconds.

Here is where I enter Tennessee.

And this is a house at the corner that seems to have seen some better days.

Back in Alabama, here is Tennessee again.

Back to Alabama once more.
Here we get on I-565 that goes through Decatur, Madison, Huntsville, and to the airport.

This is the west part of I-565 with AL 20 I think in Decatur.

Some different exits off the interstate.

The exit for the Space and Rocket Center.

Just so you get an idea of what I-565 looks like in this area.

In Huntsville the junction for AL 53.

An I-565 eastbound shield.

Here is the junction for US 231/US 431.

Now we're on US 231/US 431.

The roads here have interesting exits.

And then we run into a bridge.

And this is what the road looks like just past the bridge.

Then it goes down to a two lane road.

US 231 and US 278 shields.

US 231 and AL 79 shields.

AL 79 goes from Birmingham to Tennessee.

And this is an idea of what it looks like.

And then we come to I-20 and I-59.

I-20 and I-59 shields.

And now we come to the junction for I-65.

We head back south on I-65.

An interesting font for I-65.

Now on to US 82 on the Hank Williams Memorial Highway.

AL 21/US 80/US 82 shields.

And now they all go their separate ways.

US 82 and US 231 shields.

And I am afraid those would be the end of the pictures of day two on this trip.
