Huntsville, Alabama

And now we're inside the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville. Here you can see just a few of the many exhibits they have on display inside. You have to pay a bit of a fee to enter, but I thought it was worth it. These were all taken in January 2007 as well.

We start off with a little moon buggy.

Then you can learn about nose cones (what the monkeys traveled in).

Salute to the rocket industry.

A capsule.

The monkeys' names were Able and Baker.

The cone that Able and Baker traveled in.

A space suit.

Various parts of the suit and tools used up in space.

They had a flight simulator to try and land a rocket ship. As you can see, I did quite well!

MMU: Manned Maneuvering Unit.
Some of the things in this place were so large it's hard to believe they could actually get them up to the moon.
Some space suits through the years.

They had plaster castings of Apollo 11 astronauts' hands.
A panoramic view of the display.
More of the moon buggy.

From Apollo 11.

This exhibit had a sign out front that said entering may cause nausea. It made you feel like you were floating in space a bit.

And this was randomly placed in the hallway. From Terminator 2.
