Hurricane Wilma Damage
October 24, 2005

Hurricane Wilma was yet another hurricane that decided to rip through Florida on October 24 of 2005. This one caused a lot of damage, including no power for some people for at least a month. There were curfews for a while as well. Not a pretty site, as you'll see here. Many evacuation orders were ignored by those in the Keys, and after the storm schools were closed for at least a week, many longer. There were at least 35 deaths in Florida due to the hurricane. These pictures of form around campus after the storm. I've never seen better weather afterwards either.

Some trees down in one of the parking lots.

You can see a person walking under this bridge now covered with fallen trees.

Some more fallen trees just lying on the ground.

Looking down one of the pathways with all of the debris.

Yet another pathway blocked off.

Some sun is shining now! It's amazing what a nice day it was after the hurricane hit.

A lot more debris spread around that would take a while to clean up.

Might want to rethink this pathway.

Somehow this statue remained standing throughout the storm.

More trees down and someone talking on a cell phone.

Trees everywhere!

Trees down in the lake.

A little more debris.

If you look closely, there are actually bikes in that bike rack there.

More trees down outside of the building. Everything was pretty much bare after this.

Watch your step!

There's a road in there somewhere.

These fell rather nicely together.

The flag on the left has been torn to pieces as well.

Do I really need to explain this to you further? I think not.
