Garden of the Gods
August 3, 2006

This was one of my favorite places to visit in Colorado. The first day we went, it unfortunately rained quite a bit and we had to cut the stay short. But I was extremely happy to go back a second time and spend more time there when it wasn't thunderstorming on us. These pictures are a mix of those two days. Some were taken by my brother.

This was from the information center located across the street from the entrance to the park.

They have paths you can walk along and enjoy the scenery. Unless it's thunderstorming. Then not so much.

Green and red contrast.

These are the Kissing Camels. I have a lot of pictures of these for some reason. Can you see why they are called so?

Some of these are really tall!!! Inside the information center they have a demonstration about how this area was formed.

More Kissing Camels.

More scenery.

See the storm coming? There was thunder and lightning and it kind of freaked out my mom, but my brother and I had fun!

More storm clouds coming.

Looking over the land...

Another view. That's all for the first day that consisted mostly of rain.

This was the second day we went when it wasn't raining. I had a lot of fun climbing this one! Phillip only wanted down. ;-)

Another sign telling you where you're going.

On our way out we spotted a deer by the side of the road.

My brother managed to get pretty close to take these pictures.

Very close.

I kind of wish I weren't in this picture, but the scenery is pretty.

Wildlife! I don't know what kind, though.
