Estes Park, Colorado

Estes Park is located surrounded by the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Roosevelt National Forest. The area is extremely scenic and there is so much to do. There are the usual things to do outside such as hiking, horseback riding, river rafting, fishing, and hunting. And then there are scenic drives and shopping if you are looking for something less physically demanding. We stayed here for a day abd spent another day in the Rocky Mountain National Park.

The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park is known for many things, including its architecture and famous people that have visited, but what it is probably most known for is that it is said to be haunted. If you ever read "The Shining" by Stephen King, this is the hotel he was talking about. There are history and ghost tours given daily.

Coming up to the city limits of Estes Park, this is what you see.

Some more scenic pictures.

We're here! Estes Park, CO.

So pretty.

"This light doesn't take forever, it just feels like it." And boy did it!

Looking down one of the streets in the town and at a US-36 shield.

Our first glimpse of the Stanley Hotel.

I really don't feel I did this place any justice with my pictures.

This is from the other side.

And this is what you could see from that side.

More of what you could see from the hotel.

My brother and I went exploring.

Such pretty mountains in the back.

And some more.

Basically the same picture as before.

And then there's US-34 shields. You can take either US-34 or US-36 to get into Estes Park.
