Estes Park is located surrounded
by the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Roosevelt National
Forest. The area is extremely scenic and there is so much to do.
There are the usual things to do outside such as hiking, horseback
riding, river rafting, fishing, and hunting. And then there are
scenic drives and shopping if you are looking for something less
physically demanding. We stayed here for a day abd spent another
day in the Rocky Mountain National Park.
The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park is known for many things, including
its architecture and famous people that have visited, but what
it is probably most known for is that it is said to be haunted.
If you ever read "The Shining" by Stephen King, this
is the hotel he was talking about. There are history and ghost
tours given daily.
